This vintage 1950s cocktail dress is a fab mix of atomic and rockabilly! Fitted bodice with short kimono style notched sleeves. Scooped neckline with center notch. Neckline and sleeves set off by silky black velvet. Slightly flared skirt with soft pleating at the waist in front. Deep kickpleat in back for easier walking (and dancing)!

FABRIC: Crisp taffeta sharkskin, medium weight, in a rich shade of dark red, created by interweaving red and black. The surface is flocked in black using a diamond pattern with tiny 4 cornered atomic stars at each intersection. Bodice accents are black rayon velvet.
TAG: No tags, the dress was probably custom sewn.
CLOSURES: Brass zipper in back.
CONDITION: The surface nap of the flocking is somewhat worn in places, but not worn away; i.e., still plainly seen. No stains, holes, tears or other issues noted.
